Story:
Hello! I’m Sarah, I joined Crossley Mill Nursery in March 2004 as an early year’s practitioner after completing my Level 3 Diploma at Calderdale College. I started working in the baby room and over the years have progressed through various roles, gaining experience working in all the different rooms within the nursery, caring and teaching children aged 3 months to 5 years.
I then progressed to the Senior Nursery Practitioner position based in the Lilliput room for 2 years, and for the past 13 years I have been office based as the nursery’s Deputy Manager. Although management are office based, we spend time daily in all the nursery rooms getting to know all the children, and work closely with all the staff too.
I am also the nursery SENCO and im extremely passionate about supporting all children within them all important Early Years.
I take great pride in leading the team in all aspects of nursery provision, whilst deploying the EYFS. I am a knowledgeable, passionate professional with over 20 years’ experience in childcare, and I'm committed to delivering high quality early years practice. I also have 2 children of my own. I love working for Crossley Mill Nursery, as it’s not for profit ethos means you are valued and recognised for the commitment and work standards you deliver.
My qualifications and training include;
NNEB level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education
NVQ level 3 in Leadership and management
Peadiatric first Aid Emergency First aid at work for adults
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
Safeguarding/Child protection
