Story:
After graduating in Catering & Hospitality Management at Huddersfield University, I worked in corporate organisations providing catering services for various clients.
Further qualifications in vegetarian catering, food safety and health and safety from Bradford University led me to be employed with Calderdale Adult Education Service, delivering courses in Healthy Vegetarian Cooking and training food handlers in food safety for the Institute of Chartered Environmental Health Officers.
In 2008, I joined the Crossley Mill team to provide healthy vegetarian meals for the children attending the nursery. During this time I was also a volunteer for the youth offending team and completed the Equality, Diversity and Restorative Justice Practitioner course. I was then employed by the Youth Justice Board to support victims of crime and work with young offenders to improve their behaviour and life skills.
In June 2021 I returned to Crossley Mill to work as Nursery Cook two days a week again, providing freshly prepared nutritious vegetarian meals.
