Our Ethos and Principles

We welcome all children and their families irrespective of race, religion, gender, ability or disability.

All staff are fully trained and qualified.

We believe that our staff are the main resource a child needs to learn and develop through play during their time at nursery. We have no televisions screens or toys of war.

We encourage autonomy and provide activities to build on what a child already knows. We believe that all children reach different developmental stages in their own time.

We offer an annual training day for parents/carers.

Crossley Mill is a not-for-profit organisation run by a board of parents.

We are a vegetarian nursery with meals cooked from fresh ingredients each day.

We offer FREE settling sessions.

We have a large, specially landscaped outdoor space, which allows children to get outside and play, explore or garden every day.

We are here to provide a warm, comfortable and safe environment in which your child can develop and grow.

The nursery closes twice a year for staff training days, No fees are due in respect of days where the nursery is closed eg. Bank Holidays.

We aim to enrich the children’s understanding of the seven areas of learning (personal, social & emotional; communication and language; literacy; mathematics; Understanding the world; Expressive arts and design; physical) through play, safe experimentation, exploration and enjoyment!
